How many years have you been practicing?
What caused you to want to specialized in weight loss surgery?
When I was a student at Medical school I understood that obesity is the cause many mortal diseases. And obesity is a factor that we can prevent or treat. All the people in the world deserve to be healthy. That’s why I decided to help people to achieve it.
Please name a common misconception about weight loss surgery
“There are a lot of complications in bariatric surgery”-If you are with an experienced surgeon and team that is not true.
What sort of psychological evaluations are required before WLS?
We use a specialized questionnaire before the surgery and once we have the results we decide if you are ready for surgery or you need another sort of treatment before.
How invasive are the surgeries you perform?
All the surgeries that I performed are minimally invasive. Even in the revisional surgeries.
What are the risks or stomach surgeries?
The risk are less than 1 percent, and the main risks are: bleeding, leaks, fistulae and stenosis.
What emotional impact should potential patients consider before opting for procedures such a bariatric or sleeve surgery?
Obviously surgery in not a walk in the park, so what should a person expect to get through it?
There is a big change in your life and you have to be ready to deal with it. You are going to see magnificent results but you are a part of these changes.
What is the best compliment you ever received?
You use the graspers (laparoscopic instruments) like an extension of your hands.
What are the hobbies or interests outside of your occupation?
I love travel. I like doing exercise. And the most important thing is to make time to be with my daughters.

What is the best advice you can share with anyone considering weight loss surgery?
You have to be sure of doing that. But once you say yes you will not regret it.
